Even during a global pandemic I’m still an adventurer!
I’ve met a few police officers here in the Netherlands, and at the end of April I was invited to go on a ride along — #9 on my list

For most of the day, we were too busy to take pictures. We did so many things!
— A confused lady needed to be brought home.
— An argument broke out between tourists, so I had to mediate. My fellow officers later complimented me on how I was able to calm those people down. I just tried to stay relaxed and show the tourists I was understanding them.
— We made an arrest. I can’t divulge all the details, but I can say I was tasked with guarding the detainee in the back seat. And once we got back to the station I walked him to a cell.

Around the middle of the day we stopped by Dam Square.

We had a little extra time, so this is when we got our photos for the day…
Towards the end of the day, I asked my fellow officers if I could drive.

Thank you to Nienke and all the police officers in Amsterdam who helped me with this adventure! And thank you to Ineke and Bert as well!

Dear Police in Amsterdam Who Helped Roosevelt, thank you so much for keeping people safe. We totally laughed when we saw Roosevelt in handcuffs, too, after he asked to drive! Thank you for helping Roosevelt visit Dam Square, too. It looks amazing. We hope Roosevelt made your day brighter!
Roosevelt, GREAT job helping the police help the lady, calm the tourists, and even helping guard the person who had to be arrested. I hope that person learned a lesson, and will be better behaved from now on!

Just now saw your photo, Roosevelt, on Instagram, the one with the cool police stickers and the news you might be on your way back to the USA if you stay healthy. It was so good to see you!!! The people who have had you are so very kind! I hope they are safe and healthy too.
